Standards Leadership
ANGEL Learning recognizes that our learning management suite is just one part of a complex network of systems that must integrate seamlessly. Our standards-based approach drives development of ANGEL LMS as an open system, simplifies integrations and lowers your total cost of ownership.
IMS Global Learning Consortium (GLC) Contributing Member
![]() |
The IMS GLC is a worldwide non-profit organization that develops and promotes the adoption of open technical specifications for interoperable learning technology. IMS specifications are the de facto standards for delivering learning products. ANGEL Learning actively participates in standards development.
IMS Common Cartridge Support
The IMS Common Cartridge defines a commonly supported content format that is able to run on any compliant LMS platform. ANGEL supports the Common Cartridge format for delivering course content, and was the first commercial LMS to support this important emerging standard.
In addition to our support for Common Cartridge, ANGEL Learning is a member of the IMS Common Cartridge Alliance. In 2006 when the IMS Common Cartridge effort presented a need for specifications and source code for content protection and user authorization, ANGEL Learning stepped in with a valuable contribution of our intellectual property – including source code – illustrating our commitment to open standards and interoperability. Our ongoing support of Common Cartridge enables ANGEL users to freely choose content from a wide range of providers offering extensive coverage across curricula.
IMS QTI 2.1 – Question and Test Interoperability
ANGEL’s assessment engine is built on the QTI 2.1 specification ensuring compatibility now and in the future.
IMS TI – Tools Interoperability
ANGEL supports this IMS standard that allows seamless integration with third party web applications including single sign-on and gradebook integration for results reporting.
IMS Content Packaging Information Model 1.1.4 – Content Interoperability
ANGEL interoperates with instructional materials developed in the IMS CP Information Model structure independent of authoring tools, run time environments and/or software developer.
IMS ACCLIP – Accessibility for Learner Information Packages
ANGEL is the only LMS that supports ACCLIP, allowing ANGEL to adapt to a learner’s specific accessibility needs and preferences before or after they login to the ANGEL environment. Because it is standards based, students who have defined accessibility needs in other systems can import them directly into their ANGEL profile.
Schools Interoperability Framework (SIF) Member
![]() |
A member of the Schools Interoperability Framework Association (SIFA), ANGEL Learning is building an ANGEL agent that will allow ANGEL applications to work with the SIF standard. ANGEL also integrates with virtually any SIF standard through ANGEL XEI, enabling the seamless integration of a broad spectrum of instructional, administrative and communications tools essential to effectively addressing the needs of all learners.
ADL SCORM Certification
|
|
ANGEL LMS v. 7.2 is certified SCORM® 2004 3rd Edition LMS compliant by the Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) Co-Lab. The ADL initiative is a collaborative effort among government, industry, and academia to establish a new distributed learning environment that enables interoperability of learning tools and course content on a global scale. The Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) is an outcome of the ADL initiative. SCORM defines the interrelationships of course components, data models, and protocols so learning content objects are sharable across systems that conform to the model. ANGEL users are assured that SCORM compiant content will work seamlessly with ANGEL LMS.
SCORM and the SCORM logo are certification marks of Concurrent Technologies Corporation of Johnstown, Pennsylvania. The SCORM 2004 Compliant logo indicates that the ANGEL Learning Management Suite has been independently tested and certified by an ADL-designated certification organization to comply with SCORM 2004. Successful test results for a product constitute AS IS compliance with SCORM 2004 using the designated tests. Compliance evaluation using SCORM 2004 tests developed by ADL or others does not constitute or imply endorsement or assurance by ADL or others of product utility, quality or reliability in use of technical accuracy of content.
