North Iowa Area Community College Automates Data Interchange between Datatel SIS and the ANGEL Learning Management Suite

Indianapolis, Ind. – October 20, 2008 –ANGEL® Learning, a leading provider of enterprise eLearning software and services, today published a case study relating the North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) implementation of the ANGEL Extended Enterprise Integration (XEI) Agent Framework. Using ANGEL XEI, NIACC automatically keeps its Datatel Student Information System (SIS) and the ANGEL Learning Management Suite (LMS) in sync. A data service that runs in the background, the ANGEL XEI software provides an integration method and a scheduling interface to automate the tasks that keep NIACC’s SIS and the ANGEL LMS in sync. ANGEL XEI retrieves and validates data before adding it to the system to ensure data integrity. The ability to schedule data transfers allows the college to run transfers during off-peak hours, minimizing their impact on system performance. ANGEL XEI accepts data in many formats including flat files and IMS Enterprise XML files and allows direct database connections.
