SUNY Geneseo provides a great example of how to take a holistic approach to rolling out and implementing an ANGEL LMS system, an approach that involves design, marketing, training, support, and incorporation throughout the campus. To begin with Geneseo's ANGEL implementation, called myCourses, has its own design and is branded to fit in with the rest of their campus my-themed systems. The myCourses logo and branding are reinforced throughout all of the supporting documents and materials. From there, training on myCourses is a collaborative effort involving instructional trainers, faculty and library personnel. The training not only addresses the “how to” use the system, but also the “why use it?” and is designed to create “buzz” about myCourses across the campus. A self-help website with step-by-step guides, quick reference and video clips, as well as quality service and support are also provided. myCourses is also incorporated with a variety of campus entities such as the Study Abroad experience, the library and other campus IT systems. The result, within one year of deploying ANGEL, 99% of Geneseo's students and 86% of their faculty had checked out the system. Further, 50% of faculty are actively using the system, as well as administrative offices, student groups and committees.
