Hosting Systems Administrator

The Hosting Systems Administrator is responsible for:

• System Backups, Restores, Course Level Restoration, DR and Archival.
• Core server builds and administration of Hosting Servers.
• Working through general operations and server issues as they occur.
• Sharing the 24/7 on-call duties.
• Serving as point of contact for service tickets escalated from internal helpdesk.

EDUCATION and TRAINING:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preferably in software engineering or computer science.
• Experience with backup technologies and strategies oriented around the backup and restoration of large, volatile datasets using Redgate backup software.
• Familiarity with LAN/WAN architecture, TCP/IP, Firewall/VLAN configuration, NAT/Hardware-Based load balancing, encryption, and network security best practices.
• Familiarity with CISCO and F5 Big IP equipment and/or certification a Plus.
• In depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server Administration / Active Directory.
• IIS and SQL server knowledge a plus.
